The Center is a HUD Certified Housing Counseling Agency, offering a Comprehensive Housing Counseling Program is designed to offer a full range of services, advice, and assistance to Housing consumers.  We service areas including Mobile, Baldwin, Clarke, Conecuh, Choctaw, Escambia, Monroe, and Washington counties.

Potential clients receive a preliminary assessment conducted by a housing counselor. Through a preliminary assessment, the housing counselor based on the client’s comments will determine what counseling services are desired and/or needed for the client. Those counseling services might include budgeting, credit, financial literacy, pre-purchase homebuyer education, foreclosure prevention, post-purchase, rental housing, outreach, and service for the homeless.

The Center offers two tracks for those who desire to become homeowners, a fast-track and a slow-track. The counselor will make a recommendation to the client as to which track is needed to achieve homeownership or their personal financial goals. For those seeking homeownership, the counselor will work with the client to determine their barriers to homeownership. From this point forward, the counselor will create a realistic plan of action for the client based on their situation and availability for counseling.
