It has been my pleasure to serve the citizens of Mobile and the surrounding counties of southwest Alabama. Fair Housing and the work that we do here are critical to the communities we serve as "housing really is still the issue." If you think about it where you lives determines what type of education you receive; what type of job or career you could have; your access to healthcare; and your access to shopping or other needs.
There is a term called Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing, which simply means that local municipalities who receive federal funds are actively considering their citizens access to fair and decent housing and diverse communities in their city planning. The Center is currently working though workshops and literature to educate citizens on how to protect and have a voice in the plans for their communities.
I love what I do because I have an opportunity to serve and to make change for citizens that make their living experiences better.
